Judge Dredd and 2000 AD franchise owner Rebellion has set the post-apocalyptic thriller “School’s Out Forever” as its first in-house film project.
Based on Scott K. Andrews’s book in the Afterblight Chronicles series, the story follows a fifteen-year-old who flees to his school as a safe haven after an apocalyptic event wipes out most of the world’s population.
The film will have a tight budget of just $1.25 million and will shoot this Summer. It will utilise the company’s new studio space near Oxford, England with filming to take place there and on location.
The new “Judge Dredd” series and Duncan Jones’ “Rogue Trooper” are also expected to film there after ‘School’ wraps and will boast considerably bigger budgets.
