Rebecca Hall (“The Town”) is attached to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Tom Bradby’s novel “Shadow Dancer” for Unanimous Pictures, Element Pictures and BBC Films reports Variety.
Hall would play Colette McVeigh, a 29-year-old mother and IRA terrorist whose brothers are senior members in the cause and whose husband was killed by British security forces. Arrested in an aborted bombing attempt in London, Colette is given the choice of imprisonment or turning informer to MI5.
When she returns to Belfast with her handler and puts herself in increasing danger to keep up her end of the deal, her handler realises his professional integrity has been compromised.
James Marsh (“Man on a Wire”) directs from a script the author adapted himself, while Chris Coen will produce.
