Tom Cruise’s most recent leading ladies are teaming up.
“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” scene stealer Rebecca Ferguson is in negotiations to join “Edge of Tomorrow” actress Emily Blunt in the film adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-seller “The Girl on the Train” at Dreamworks.
Tate Taylor (“The Help”) will helm the film in which Blunt plays a jobless London alcoholic who, devastated by a recent divorce, spends her daily train ride fantasizing about a seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that she passes.
One night she arrives at home covered in blood and unable to remember much from a black-out drinking episode – slowly realising she may have seen or been involved in a crime.
Ferguson is in talks to play Anna, the wife of the woman’s ex-husband. A third key female role has yet to be cast. Marc Platt will produce while Erin Cressida Wilson (“Secretary,” “Chloe”) is adapting the screenplay.
