Re-Entering The Dragon’s Lair

The classic 1983 arcade game “Dragon’s Lair” recently got a release on Blu-ray, and now its creator Don Bluth that he is still hoping to turn it into a feature-length movie.

According to IGN Movies, the recent release features an interview with Bluth and the producers who “mention that not only do they have a completed script, but also that they’ve taken a few meetings in recent months.”

In the original game the user controlled the knight Dirk the Daring as he went on a quest through a very colorful dungeon filled with traps, creatures, spirits and a dragon to rescue Princess Daphne.

Producer Gary Goldman adds the Dragon’s Lair movie would be done via traditional animation rather than CGI, and would serve as a prequel to the game.
