Russell Mulcahy’s iconic 1984 Australian monster film “Razorback” has received a 4K remaster ahead of a Blu-ray release this November 1st via Umbrella Entertainment.
The film centers on a gigantic and vicious wild boar terrorizing the Australian outback, a 900 lb. beast that can rip a man in half and destroy a home in seconds and has set its sites on the small isolated community of Gamulla.
Sadly the disc will NOT include the gorier extended scenes, featured on the old Roadshow Home Video version, reinserted back into the film. Those original 35mm film elements are long lost, but an SD version of that VHS cut of the film is being included as a special feature.
Melbourne’s Roar Digital is behind the new 4K scan and restoration, and the disc will boast all-new extras including a discussion featurette produced by Cinemaniacs.
