Ray Park Won’t Return For “Snake Eyes”

Ray Park Wont Return For Snake Eyes

Though he played the mute role of Snake Eyes in the previous two “G.I. Joe” films, actor and stuntman Ray Park will not reprise the role for the upcoming spin-off film about his character.

Producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura confirmed to Slashfilm that Park won’t be involved, mostly because this will be an origin story and whomever is hired will be younger than Park and will likely have his face revealed.

Snake Eyes is a ninja commando known for his deadly ability with a sword and trench knives, as well as being a highly skilled martial artist. In the comics he lives in solitude in the High Sierras when he’s recruited to join G.I. Joe. A helicopter explosion renders him scarred and mute and donning his signature all over black look.

Robert Schwentke (“RED,” “R.I.P.D.”) helms from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulous (“The Huntsman: Winter’s War”). The film appears to be targeting a March 27th 2020 release.
