Best known as a stage actor, Ray Fisher has garnered a lot of attention for landing the plum role of DC hero Cyborg in the various upcoming films of Warner Brothers’ DC cinematic universe.
Before the announcement last week, it was already known Fisher would have a part in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. Beyond that though it was anyone’s guess as to what he would be in, even Fisher himself was in the dark.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor revealed that he had no idea Warners would announce a full “Cyborg” solo movie in 2020 until just a few hours before the announcement when the producers revealed the news to him:
“I didn’t know the extent to which DC and WB had planned on taking my character. When I signed on, I just wanted to be part of this world. But that specific information [the Cyborg film], I found out then and there. I didn’t think I’d be getting my own stand-alone film.”
Fisher also confirmed he has long finished shooting his scenes on ‘Dawn’ which includes several of his future “Justice League” colleagues:
“I met everyone in the Justice League except Henry Cavill and Ezra Miller. It was surreal. You get this idea of going to work on a Hollywood set as being really stressful and nerve-wracking. But it blew that stereotype away. If they did have stressful times, it wasn’t while I was there.”
This would indicate Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Fisher’s Cyborg all share a scene in Snyder’s film.
