Ray & Abrams Team, Hlavin Goes Earp

Two bits of interesting script news today. First up, Paramount Pictures has acquired an untitled mystery adventure project from screenwriter Billy Ray (“Breach,” “Shattered Glass”) and producer/director JJ Abrams (“Star Trek,” “Lost”) says Deadline.

The script is the latest from a very busy Ray who is currently also scripting a revisionist “Peter Pan”, an adaptation of “A Captain’s Duty” for Paul Greengrass, a remake of “The Secret In Their Eyes” and a film version of the TV series “24”.

Meanwhile, Fox TV has picked up an untitled western pilot script from “The Shield” scribe John Hlavin says The Live Feed.

The show will explore the origins and significant live events of Wyatt Earp. “Fringe” producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have been brought on to executive produce the project alongside Hlavin and Heather Kadin.
