Rapace, Hawke Join Stockholm Syndrome Film

Ethan Hawke and Noomi Rapace are set to star in filmmaker Robert Budreau’s “Stockholm” for Aversano Films. The true story tale is based on a famed 1973 bank heist and hostage crisis in the Swedish city.

The incident saw the hostages bond with their captors and turn against the authorities, giving rise to the term ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ for this psychological phenomenon which had its most famous individual case two years later with Patty Hearst.

Budreau, Jonathan Bronfman and Nicholas Tabarrok will produce while Jason Blum, Scott Aversano and Will Russell-Shapiro will executive produce. Production is slated to commence in April.
