Randall Park Joins “Ant-Man and the Wasp”

Randall Park (“Fresh Off the Boat,” “Veep”) has been set to portray S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo in Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp” for Marvel Studios and Disney Pictures.

The plot is being kept under wraps with the film’s star Paul Rudd and Gabriel Ferrari penning the script and Kevin Feige producing. Returning stars Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michael Pena join actress Hannah John-Kamen in a new role.

In the comics Jimmy Woo, aka. Woo Yen Jet, is an Asian-American FBI agent turned S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who oversaw an earlier incarnation of the Avengers, hunted down Godzilla with the help of Dum Dum Dugan and a robot, and ultimately becomes the head of the Atlas Foundation.

The original “Ant-Man” film grossed $519 million worldwide with the new one about to begin filming in Atlanta for a late 2018 release.
