Raimi’s Spooky Seeks A “Substitute”

Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures have launched a Spooky Pictures production banner which intends to produce thrillers for family audiences says Variety.

First in line is “The Substitute”, a Danish thriller remake which revolves around a terrified sixth-grade class as the students race to reveal to their parents that their new substitute teacher is an evil alien being.

Scott Derrickson (“The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”) is directing and co-writing the script with Paul Harris Boardman. Sony Pictures, which has a first look deal with Spooky, will co-finance and distribute.
