Raimi, Palmer, Bell Depart Projects?

Despite reports that he had signed on to direct, Sam Raimi himself told Collider over the weekend that he’s “not really committed” to Disney’s “Wizard of Oz” prequel as yet.

The helmer says “I’m not really committed to ‘Oz’. we’re gonna wait and see how that all goes… it’s something i’d like to work on.” Raimi also confirmed that as of late he and Robert Rodat have been working on the treatment for the “World of Warcraft” film adaptation.

Meanwhile, rising Australian actress Teresa Palmer tells Coming Soon that her reported involvement in the upcoming “Mad Max: Fury Road” is not happening. “I’m not [in it], actually. That’s just a rumor that has been on the internet” says “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” actress.

So it was never real? That would be a surprise considering her ‘Apprentice’ co-star Jay Baruchel said earlier this year she’d been cast in a major role in the project, and other sources indicated she had talked about the opportunity before. In any case whether it was true or not, she’s out now it would seem.

Finally, four days before filming was due to begin on Wes Craven’s “Scream 4”, actress Lake Bell has dropped out of the production. Revealing the news on her Twitter account, the actress pegged the reason for the departure being due to scheduling conflicts.

Bell was set to play a police officer who knew Sidney (Neve Campbell) from her high school days.
