Rachel Weisz is loosely attached to play MGM icon Hedy Lamarr in Amy Redford’s indie feature “Face Value” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Austrian-American actress garnered fame in the 1940s and was most famous for playing Delilah in Cecil B. DeMille’s “Samson and Delilah.”
In real life she was also an accomplished scientist who helped create a method of changing frequencies, a forerunner to modern wireless communications.
That side of her life will be the focus of Redford’s film. Charlize Theron’s name was previously linked to the project.
Jose Rivera and Gretchen Somerfeld penned the script, while Nimbus Pictures will produce.
