R.L. Stine’s “Fear Street” Books To Be Adapted

20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment are teaming to develop a film based on the popular “Fear Street” novel series by “Goosebumps” author R.L. Stine.

The series, which is aimed at horror-loving teens, is set in a fictional Ohio city and deals with murder mysteries that often deal with less supernatural elements and more violence than his “Goosebumps” books.

Stein says he can’t provide any further details at this point: “I’m not allowed to say, but yeah, there’s something happening. I’m usually a loose cannon but they really didn’t want me to talk about it.”

There are at least 100 titles in the series which has sold nearly 100 million copies worldwide since they began back in 1989. Stine himself has sold at least 500 million books worldwide.
