Actor Nelsan Ellis, most famous for his role as Lafayette Reynolds on HBO’s “True Blood” has passed away at age 39 due to complications from heart failure.
Actress Octavia Spencer broke the news on Instagram Saturday morning saying: “Just got word that we lost (Nelsan). My heart breaks for his kids and family.”
Ellis has also appeared in a regular role on “Elementary,” and had parts in films like “The Stanford Experiment,” “The Butler,” “Get On Up” and “Little Boxes”. He leaves behind a son and seven siblings.
