R.I.P. Elmore Leonard

Legendary writer Elmore Leonard passed away at his home in Detroit on Tuesday morning due to complications of a stroke. He was 87 years old and surrounded by his family when he died.

Leonard’s books were known for their black humor and distinct characters. They inspired FX’s “Justified” series, and acclaimed films such as “Get Shorty,” “Out of Sight,” “Jackie Brown,” “Hombre” and “3:10 to Yuma”.

A film adaptation of Leonard’s “The Switch” is slated to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in a few weeks.
