Quickies: Captive, Clyde, Boogie, Bloopers

The Captive
Atom Egoyan’s new Ryan Reynolds-led drama, formerly titled “Queen of the Night,” will now be called “The Captive”. The story follows the father of an abducted child who still thinks she’s alive eight years after she’s been taken.

Scott Speedman, Mireille Enos, Rosario Dawson, Kevin Durand, Alexia Fast and Bruce Greenwood also star. The film will likely premiere on the festival circuit in early 2014. [Source: The Film Farm]

Super Clyde
One series that didn’t get greenlit to series for this Fall was “Super Clyde,” a CBS single camera comedy about a comic-book geek (Rupert Grint) who inherits millions and puts it to use by becoming a superhero. Stephen Fry also starred in the show as the young man’s butler.

When a failed pilot doesn’t make it to series, the networks usually bury it. In this case, the show’s producers asked execs to let it be posted online in full. Surprisingly, the network agreed and now it’s up over at CBS.com/super-clyde.

Boogie Nights (Live Read)
“Twilight” hunk Taylor Lautner and “Archer” scene stealer Judy Greer are set to play the roles of porn stars Dirk Diggler and Amber Waves in Jason Reitman’s live script reading of Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Boogie Nights” at Film Independent at LACMA this Thursday night.

Jesse Eisenberg and Olivia Wilde previously read the roles during Reitman’s live reading of the script at the Toronto International Film Festival. Mark Wahlberg and Greer’s “Carrie” co-star Julianne Moore played the roles in the original film. [Source: The Wrap
