X-Men: Dark Phoenix
A new photo from Simon Kinberg’s upcoming “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” has been posted by IGN who have also revealed the name of Jessica Chastain’s pale-haired alien antagonist character – Agent Smith. Speculation is rife it’s a code name, but for which character is unclear. [Source: IGN]

Justice League
A new iTunes listing indicates that Zack Snyder & Joss Whedon’s “Justice League” film will be coming to Digital HD on January 30th which indicates a DVD & Blu-ray release will happen in mid-February. No word on extras at this point and chances of an ‘extended cut’ are practically zero. [Source: CBM]

Masaaki Yuasa Films
Gkids has acquired North American distribution rights to Japanese director Masaaki Yuasa’s two most recent films – “Night Is Short, Walk on Girl” and “Lu Over the Wall” along with 2004’s “Mind Game” with plans to release all three films in their original Japanese language along with creating a dubbed English version of “Lu Over the Wall” that will premiere at Sundance. Eddie Awards
The American Cinema Editors have announced the nominees for the 68th ACE Eddie Awards with “Blade Runner 2049,” “Dunkirk,” “Molly’s Game,” “The Post,” and “The Shape of Water” up for best edited dramatic feature and “Baby Driver,” “Get Out,” “I, Tonya,” “Lady Bird” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” up for best edited comedy feature. Ricky Gervais
Following on from Dave Chappelle giving us a second unexpected comedy special at New Year’s with “The Bird Revelation,” comedian Ricky Gervais has sold a second yet-to-film comedy special to Netflix on top of his already shot “Ricky Gervais: Humanity” special which will debut in the first quarter of this year.
