Spider-Man Homecoming
Thanks to a strong showing in China, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” has now soared past both “Wonder Woman” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” to become the year’s highest superhero film grosser at the worldwide box office.

The Tom Holland-led film has now taken in a whopping $874 million globally, the benchmark being reached as the movie comes to digital, Blu-ray, and DVD this week with the first ten minutes of the film now made available online:

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!
Andy Garcia has joined the cast of the musical sequel “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” at Universal Pictures. Garcia is stepping into a new role that is being kept under wraps.

The story returns audiences to the magical Greek island of Kalokairi in an original musical based on the songs of Swedish pop sensations, ABBA. Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan SkarsgÄrd and Colin Firth are all returning. [Source: Deadline]

The Perfectionists
Freeform has given a pilot order for the spinoff drama series “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”. Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish are set to reprise their roles from the original series in the pilot. I. Marlene King has written the pilot and serves as executive producer with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. [Source: Variety]

We’re still a few months away from Paul Thomas Anderson’s new, untitled film starring Daniel Day-Lewis. Before that arrives though, the helmer has unleashed the short film “Valentine” which was screened briefly in 35mm at select cinemas during the summer. Now online, the fourteen-minute piece sees the band Haim playing through three songs live in a recording studio.
