Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD

Charles Dickens is set to return to screens with “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight along with Ridley Scott and Tom Hardy’s production companies developing new adaptations of several Dickens stories. The first will be a three-part adaptation of “A Christmas Carol”.

The BBC is also teaming with David Heyman’s Heyday Television on a three-part adaptation of Andrea Levy’s novel “The Long Song” The story follows the dying days of slavery in Jamaica with Sarah Williamsl penning the adaptation. [Source: BBC]

Director Gore Verbinski is set to reunite with his “The Ring” and “A Cure for Wellness” cinematographer Bojan Bazelli on the upcoming “X-Men” spinoff “Gambit”. Production on the project is expected to kick off this February in New Orleans.

Channing Tatum stars as the titular mutant-hero with Lizzy Caplan in talks to join the cast as the film’s female lead. Plot details remain under wraps but Verbinski is set to helm the film about the fan favorite mutant from a script written by Josh Zetumer. [Source: Omega Underground]

Nicollette Sheridan (“Desperate Housewives”) has been cast as Alexis Carrington in the “Dynasty” reboot on The CW. Joan Collins famously played the role in the original 1980s super soap.

Alexis Carrington is the first wife of Blake Carrington and mother to Fallon and Steven. She will return unexpectedly to their world, challenging Blake’s marriage to Cristal, seeking to reunite with her children, and fighting to claim what is hers. [Source: TV Line]
