Lionsgate has shaken up its schedule, pushing back the Taron Egerton-led “Robin Hood” re-imagination from March 23th 2018 to September 21st next year.
Additionally, “Tyler Perry’s She’s Living My Life” has been retitled “Tyler Perry’s Acrimony” and will open March 30th, Deon Taylor’s “Traffik” will hit April 29th, “Uncle Drew” will open June 29th, and “Hellfest” hits October 12th. [Source: Lionsgate]
James and Lucia
Aidan Gillen (“Game of Thrones”) is set to play famed Irish writer James Joyce in Robert Mullan’s new film “James And Lucia”. Shooting is eyed to begin in early 2018 in Dublin and Luxembourg.
The story deals with the near-blind Joyce’s life as he writes “Finnegan’s Wake” whilst his daughter Lucia’s mental health deteriorates following a failed romance with playwright Samuel Beckett. [Source: The Wrap]
Peter Nicks (“The Force,” “The Waiting Room”) is set to direct an adaptation of Dick Lehr’s novel “The Fence” for Fox Searchlight. George Pelecanos and Dennis Lehane will pen the true story tale.
The story follows Michael Cox, an African American plainclothes officer who is mistakenly beaten during a police chase and then finds himself on the other side of the ‘blue wall of silence’ as the Boston Police Department covers it up. [Source: Deadline]
David Fincher’s black humor is on full display in the new promo for the filmmaker’s upcoming Netflix series “Mindhunter”. Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv and Holt McCallany star in the series which takes viewers inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit. It hits the service on October 13th.
