The Night Comes For Us
Netflix has announced an October 19th release date for the Indonesian action film “The Night Comes for Us” starring “The Raid” actors Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim. Timo Tjahjanto helms the film which premiered at Fantastic Fest last month.
The story follows a former triad enforcer, and his mission to protect a young girl, while simultaneously trying to escape his former gang after his mysterious disappearance sets off a violent battle on the streets of Jakarta. [Source: Variety]
“Hereditary” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” star Alex Wolff has joined the cast of Cory Finley’s comedy “Bad Education” at Automatik and Sight Unseen. Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones are producing.
Mike Makowsky wrote the script based on his own high school experience with Hugh Jackman playing a superintendent who works for the betterment of the student’s education while embezzling public funds to live the life he wants. Ray Romano and Allison Janey co-star. [Source: Deadline]
Winston Duke (“Black Panther”) is set to star in the action thriller “Heroine” which Daniel Casey (“Kin”) is set to pen and direct for Paramount Players. Matt Kaplan is producing and filming begins in the Spring.
The story focuses on a mother and domestic abuse survivor who moves into a new neighborhood for a clean start, only to fall into new danger when she witnesses a kidnapping by an Aryan gang. Time Life has announced “Robin Williams: Comic Genius,” a 22-disc DVD box set which includes all of late comedian Robin Williams’ stand-up specials, including some never-before-seen shows, late night talk show appearances and other interviews, USO shows, and the recently released HBO documentary “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind”. The set releases November 5th.
