“The Meg” and “RED” scribes Jon & Erich Hoeber have been set to script a “Mighty Mouse” film adaptation for Paramount Animation. Karen Rosenfelt and Robert Cort are producing what will be a hybrid film about the massively muscled mouse. A cartoon staple in the 1950s, the massively muscled mouse was effectively a Superman parody and boasted a famed theme song. [Source: Deadline]
The Dead Don’t Die
Jim Jarmusch’s star-packed dark comedy zombie film “The Dead Don’t Die” is set to kick off the Cannes Film Festival on May 14th. Bill Murray, Chloe Sevigny, Adam Driver and Tilda Swinton lead the cast of the story which unfolds in the peaceful town of Centerville that suddenly finds itself under attack by zombies. Focus is releasing the film in the United States one month later on June 14th. [Source: Variety]
George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures have closed a two-year, first-look deal with MGM and the first film in that deal is a Clooney-directed biopic about motoring engineer and designer John DeLorean. Fan-favorite character Kitana is set to return for the upcoming “Mortal Kombat 11” which hits stores April 23rd for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, and Xbox One.

World War Z
A new trailer has also arrived for the upcoming video game based on Max Brooks’ 2006 novel “World War Z” and its subsequent (and very loose) 2013 film adaptation.
In World War Z, every play session tells its own unique story of survival through the help of the AI director, which constantly adapts to the actions of you and your squad. The game launches on April 16th.
