Mary Poppins Returns
A new photo of Lin-Manuel Miranda as a lamplighter named Jack in the upcoming Disney film “Mary Poppins Returns” has arrived via Empire. Miranda is effectively serving as this film’s version of Dick Van Dyke’s chimney sweep from the original, though Van Dyke himself has a cameo in the new film.

Call of the Wild
Colin Woodell (“Unsane,” “Masters of Sex”) will join Harrison Ford and Dan Stevens in “Call of the Wild” at 20th Century Fox. Chris Sanders is directing the film based on Jack London’s classic novel with Michael Green (“Logan”) adapting the script. Ford is playing John Thornton, a prospector searching for gold in the unforgiving Yukon. [Source: Variety]

Body Cam
“Luke Cage” and “Sons of Anarchy” star Theo Rossi will join Mary J. Blige in “Body Cam” at Paramount Pictures. Nat Wolff is also on board with Malik Vitthal tapped to direct from a script by Richmond Riedel, Nick McCarthy and John Ridley.

The story follows several LAPD officers who are haunted by a malevolent spirit that is tied to the murder of a black youth at the hands of two white cops – all of which was caught on a body cam video that was destroyed in a cover-up. [Source: Variety]

Lady and the Tramp
Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”) is set to play Aunt Sarah in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp”. Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux play the titular dogs, while Thomas Mann and Kiersey Clemons portraying Lady’s human owners. Charlie Bean is directing the remake which will debut on Disney’s upcoming digital streaming service in 2019. Andrew Bujalski wrote the script. [Source: Variety]

A Spriggan
John Boyega is set to executive produce the UK fantasy horror film “A Spriggan” from writer-director Keir Burrows and producer Josephine Rose for the Bandit Country production company.
