Mary Magdalene
The first photo has been released for “Lion” director Garth Davis’ “Mary Magdalene” which sees Rooney Mara as the title character opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tahar Rahim co-star in the film which will follow Mary’s path to faith, as Jesus gains followers to his flock. No word as yet on a release date. [Source: Indiewire]

Destination Wedding
Aviron Pictures has scored the North American rights to the Keanu Reeves-Winona Ryder romantic comedy “Destination Wedding,” picking up the property for around $3 million. Victor Levin helms the comedy which focuses on two unpleasant guests who are grudgingly invited to a wedding and are both repulsed by but drawn to each other. [Source: Deadline]

Untitled Chris Morris Project
Anna Kendrick is set to star as an FBI agent in an untitled comedy from “Four Lions” director Chris Morris for See-Saw Films, Archer Gray Productions and Film4.. Already having been shot in the Dominican Republic and Florida, the film also stars Kayvan Novak, James Adomian, Danielle Brooks, Denis O’Hare, Pej Vahdat, Marchant Davis and Mousa Kraish. Beauty and the Beast
Disney’s live-action remake of “Beauty and the Beast” is returning to theaters for a limited run just in time for awards season. The re-release is scheduled for December 1st at the AMC Century City in Los Angeles and AMC Empire 25 in New York, for a one-week limited run.

Members of AMPAS, BAFTA, ACE, ADG, ASC, CAS, DGA, HFPA, MPEG, MPSE, PGA, WGA, CDG and VES will be admitted with a guest to screenings at both theaters with valid membership card. [Source: Disney Pictures]
