“Game of Thrones” actress Maisie Williams is set to voice Cammie MacCloud, a mischievous Scottish hacker, in the “gen:LOCK” anime series for Rooster Teeth. She joins a voice cast that includes Michael B. Jordan, Dakota Fanning and David Tennant, with the series set to premiere in January next year.
In “gen:LOCK,” Earth’s last free society is on the losing side of a global war, and recruits a diverse team of young pilots to control the next generation of giant, weaponized robot bodies known as mecha. The recruits find, however, that their newfound abilities come at no small cost.
Frequent “The Handmaid’s Tale” director Reed Morano has shot down a recent rumor that she was in consideration to direct the “Supergirl” movie in development at Warner Bros. Pictures. Speaking with The Observer, Morano made her position pretty clear – it’s Internet BS:
“Actually, it’s funny — someone brought it to my attention and a couple friends of mine were like, ‘Are you doing Supergirl?’ and I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ I asked my agent ‘What the hell is this?’ and they said, ‘It’s nothing, ignore it.'”
Isla Fisher has been set to star opposite Steve Coogan and David Mitchell in the Michael Winterbottom-directed comedy feature “Greed” for Film 4 and Sony International. Shooting begins later this year in Europe.
Coogan stars as a self-absorbed retail billionaire and Fisher plays his wife, the only person who truly understands him and all his complexities. Mitchell is a journalist sent to do a profile on the magnate. [Source: Deadline]
IMAX and Sony Pictures have released a new poster for the upcoming release of “Venom,” the anti-hero film starring Tom Hardy as a man who joins with a symbiote that grants him super strength and invulnerability but comes with a taste for violence and human organs. Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Woody Harrelson co-star in the film which opens October 5th.
