Quick News Joker Child Things Yo Promos

Joker
As production continues on the standalone “Joker” origin film, director Todd Philips has shared another shot of his star Joaquin Phoenix taking a smoke break in between takes. The film appears to take influence from Alan Moore’s “The Killing Joke” in its re-imagining of iconic DC villain as a failed stand-up comedian pushed over the edge. “Joker” opens October 4th. Child’s Play
Beatrice Kitsos (TV’s “The Exorcist”) and Ty Consiglio (“Wonder”) have both joined the cast of MGM and Orion Pictures’ contemporary remake of “Child’s Play” currently filming in Vancouver. Lars Klevberg (“Polaroid”) directs from a script by Tyler Burton Smith.

Kitsos and Consiglio will play Falyn and Pugg respectively, two friends of Andy Barclay (Gabriel Bateman). Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry co-star in the film in which Plaza plays a mother who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature. Stranger Things
To commemorate the anniversary of the day Will Byers was kidnapped in the series continuity, Netflix has shared a video from the set of “Stranger Things” inviting fans to celebrate Stranger Things Day today. No specific date has been given for when the third season of the popular nostalgic sci-fi drama will air.

Untitled Michael Yo Series
Comedian Michael Yo and FOX are teaming to develop a multi-camera sitcom based on Yo’s life. Yo will pen the script with Nick Adams (“Bojack Horseman”) with the action following a young couple who are not meeting the expectations of his parents. Things get worse when the ex-Military African-American father and Asian mother show up to help take care of the couple’s newborn baby. Andy Fickman will executive produce. [Source: Deadline]

New promotional trailers are out for a number of shows including the upcoming comic book adaptation “Deadly Class,” the final season of the comedy “You’re the Worst,” Dwayne Johnson’s new reality series “The Titan Games,” and the new UK series “Death and Nightingales” from the creator of “The Fall” and starring Jamie Dornan.
