The Grudge
Sony has released the first look at their upcoming reboot of “The Grudge” franchise opening June 21st next year. Nicolas Pesce helms the film which stars “Insidious” alum Lin Shaye who earlier this year said: “It’s the scariest movie I’ve ever been a part of, not even maybe. Not even maybe. And it’s the scariest part I’ve ever had, bar none.” [Source: Twitter]

Poms
STXFilms has bought the U.S. rights to the cheerleading comedy “Poms” starring Diane Keaton, Jacki Weaver and Pam Grier. Zara Hayes is directing from a script by Shane Atkinson based on a story by Hayes and Atkinson about a group of women who form a cheerleading squad at their retirement community. Alisha Boe, Phyllis Somerville, Charlie Tahan, Bruce McGill, Rhea Perlman and Celia Weston also star. [Source: Variety]

Austin Powers 4
Mike Myers, appearing on the red carpet at the “Bohemian Rhapsody” this past week, hinted that the long rumored fourth “Austin Powers” film is still a possibility. In fact it seems to be making more forward progress lately with Myers saying: “You’re going to see Dr. Evil soon, somewhere in the culture. But the movie…they take a long time to write. They always have. [Director] Jay [Roach]’s been super crazy…but we – it’s looking good, so we’ll see.” [Source: Access Online]

Genesis
Kate Bosworth has been set to both produce and star in the sci-fi action thriller “Genesis” at Make Pictures Productions and Bad Idea. The story follows a mother searching for her daughter in a post-apocalyptic world. Mike Le Han is directing from a script by Brian Michael Scully while Jason Tamasco, Jerry Careccio and Zak Kristofek will produce. [Source: Deadline]

Charlie’s Angels
The first official photo from the “Charlie’s Angels” reboot has arrived, but rather than showing off the cast it’s a look at the business card which indicates the different offices of the Townsend Agency – the security firm the three female leads of the film work for. Filming on the project began at the end of September with Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska playing the new Angels. The film opens November 1st next year. [Source: Twitter]
