Fantastic Fest has unveiled their second wave of programming which will include the new “Halloween,” Jeremy Saulnier’s “Hold the Dark,” Gaspar Noe’s “Climax” and Matteo Garone’s “Dogman”. The films join the likes of Gareth Evans’ “Apostle,” Lee Chang-dong’s “Burning,” Gustav Moller’s “The Guilty,” and Julius Avery’s “Overlord” which were announced in the first wave. LD Entertainment’s remake of Adrian Lyne’s famed 1990 psychological thriller “Jacob’s Ladder” has targeted a February 1st 2019 release date. David M. Rosenthal directs the re-imagining, that stars Michael Ealy, Guy Burnet, Karla Souza and Nicole Beharie. The new version is said to be a modern day paranoid action thriller about two brothers. “Jurassic Park” and “Mission: Impossible” screenwriter David Koepp’s upcoming book “Cold Storage” has been sold to Paramount Pictures following a fierce bidding war. Koepp will produce the movie with Gavin Polone and is expected to write the script. The story reportedly deals with a virus stored in a government facility that gets out and wreaks havoc on the world according to Collider.
Ron Cephas Jones (“This Is Us”) has joined Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed in the cast of “Venom” at Sony Pictures. Ruben Fleischer helms the film about a go-getter journalist who transforms into a powerful alien symbiote. Specifics of Jones’ role are under wraps, while the film opens October 5th. [Source: THR]
A bunch of new photos from Shane Black’s “The Predator” have arrived, the new shots showing off more from the upcoming sci-fi action film opening September 14th including plenty of new creature effects shots alongside cast members from the project.
