“Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot is in talks to join Bradley Cooper in the Max Landis-penned sci-fi thriller “Deeper”. Kornel Mundruczo (“White God”) helms the film which Landis, David Goyer, Kevin Turen, Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder will produce.

Cooper plays a former astronaut who embarks on a deep sea mission to a newly-discovered oceanic trench. He begins to face mysterious forces, described as being both physical and psychological. [Source: Deadline]

In the Cloud
Justin Chatwin, Gabriel Byrne, Nora Arnezeder, Laura Fraser and Tomiwa Edun have joined the cast of Robert Scott Wildes’s new original sci-fi thriller feature “In the Cloud” currently shooting in London and Manchester ahead of a release in December on streaming service Crackle.

Set in the near future and in the wake of attacks by a serial terrorist bomber, two estranged tech geniuses are brought together by the mysterious death of their mentor. They create a tech allowing them to invade the terrorist’s memories using a VR environment, but in the process also create a powerful and dangerous AI. [Source: Crackle]

Aneurin Barnard (“Dunkirk”) and Kevin Durand (“The Strain”) are set to join George Gallo’s bodybuilding-guru film “Bigger”. Barnard and Tyler Hoechlin will play brothers who created one of the world’s first fitness empires.

The Dark Tower
In a surprisingly quick turnaround, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that their film adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” will be coming to disc and digital – very soon.

The Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey-led film will be released on Digital HD on October 17th, and will be followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and VOD release on October 31st. [Source: SPHE]

Summer of Night
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has picked up a film package based on the Dan Simmons 1991 horror novel “Summer of Night”. Mexican helmer Isaac Ezban will helm from a script by Ben Poole.

The story revolves around a series of hauntingly sinister events that threaten a Midwestern town as a group of young teens unearths a centuries-old evil prophecy of biblical proportions. [Source: Deadline]
