Quick News Creepshow Conjuring Midsommar Emily

Adrienne Barbeau, Giancarlo Esposito and Tobin Bell are set to star in the first episode of Shudder’s new “Creepshow” anthology series. The episode, ‘Gray Matter,’ will be based on the 1973 story of the same name by Stephen King. Greg Nicotero helms the project which kicks off on the service later this year. [Source: THR]

The Conjuring 3
New Line Cinema has set a September 11th 2020 release date for James Wan’s forthcoming “The Conjuring 3” which sees Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprising their roles, but plot specifics are under wraps. Michael Chaves (“The Curse of La Llorona”) will direct the project with James Wan producing. [Source: WB]

A24 has moved up “Hereditary” director Ari Aster’s follow-up film “Midsommar” by a month from August 9th to July 3rd. The new date puts it up against “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” but has also proven a hit date for horror films in recent years. Jack Reynor and Florence Pugh play a couple traveling through Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult. [Source: WB]

Emily in Paris
Lily Collins has been cast in the title role in the upcoming Paramount Network ten-episode half-hour dramedy series “Emily in Paris” which hails from creator Darren Star. The story centers on Emily, a driven twenty-something from the Midwest who moves to Paris for an unexpected job opportunity at a French marketing firm. Cultures clash as she adjusts to the challenges of life in a foreign city, while juggling her career, new friendships and love life. [Source: Variety]
