My Best Friend’s Exorcism
Endeavor Content (“Killing Eve,” “Colette”) has picked up film rights to Grady Hendrix’s horror novel “My Best Friend’s Exorcism” with “Happy Death Day” director Christopher Landon set to produce alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. Landon is developing the feature adaptation as a potential directing vehicle.

The story, set in 1988, follows the relationship of two best friends, Abby and Gretchen. After an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act more and more different, as Abby slowly comes to believe her friend has become demonically possessed. [Source: Heat Vision]

Fair and Balanced
Ashley Greene, Brooke Smith, Michael Buie and Nazanin Boniadi have all joined the Jay Roach-directed film “Fair and Balanced” which deals with the ousting of FOX News chief Roger Ailes (John Lithgow) following multiple sexual harassment claims.

Greene is set to play Abby Huntsman, Buie is Bret Baier, Smith is Irena Briganti, and Boniadi will play Rudi Bakhtiar. Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon, Mark Duplass, Alice Eve, Elisabeth Rohm, Alanna Ubach and Spencer Garrett co-star. [Source: Deadline]

Fukushima 50
The Kadokawa Corporation has set Setsuro Wakamatsu to direct and Koichi Sato and Ken Watanabe to star in “Fukushima 50” which deals with Japan’s 2011 nuclear plant disaster when a post-earthquake tsunami hit the Fukushima Daiichi facility and caused a meltdown of the core reactors. Theo Rossi (“Luke Cage,” “Sons of Anarchy”) has joined the cast of Zak Hilditch’s Netflix original psychological thriller feature “Rattlesnake” alongside Carmen Ejogo. Filming is now underway.

The film follows a single mother who accepts emergency help from a mysterious woman when her daughter is bitten by a rattlesnake. She’s forced to return the favor by taking the life of a stranger in the desert town of Tulia, Texas. [Source: Variety]
