David Slade (“Hard Candy”) is attached to direct the upcoming thriller “Come Closer” which Michael London will produce. Sara Gran penned the original novel and script adaptation which follows a young architect who may be the victim of a demonic possession, or simply may be losing her mind. [Source: Variety]
Following several teases, the new full trailer has arrived for the FX limited series “Fosse/Verdon”. The eight episodes series deals with Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, two of Broadway’s biggest names, and stars four-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams and Oscar-winning actor Sam Rockwell.
Margaret Qualley, Norbert Leo Butz, Aya Cash, Nate Corddry, and Paul Reiser co-star while Steven Levenson (“Steven Levenson”) pens the project which is produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The show premieres April 9th.
Life in Motion
Filmmaker Nzingha Stewart has been set to direct “Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina,” a biopic about ballet dancer Misty Copeland, at New Line. Michelle Rosenfarb is writing the screenplay. Copeland was the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre. Adam Shankman, Philip Sandhaus and Jennifer Gibgot will produce. Mr. Malcolm’s List
Refinery29, Untitled Entertainment, and Rebelle Media’s recently released period romantic comedy short film “Mr. Malcolm’s List” will be expanded to a feature. Emma Holly Jones will helm the film which will see the short’s original stars Gemma Chan and Freida Pinto reprise their roles.
Suzanne Allain pens the adaptation of her novel of the same name. Set in early 1800s England, a young lady (Chan) engages in courtship with a mysterious wealthy suitor, Mr. Malcolm, unaware of his unattainable list of demands for his future wife. Sope Dirisu and Oliver Jackson-Cohen also starred in the original short which debuted on Refinery29.com two weeks ago.
