El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie
The official Netflix U.S. Twitter account has posted the news that approximately 25.7 million households watched “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” within its first seven days. While it doesn’t beat Netflix’s first-week record holder this year, the Sandler & Aniston comedy “Murder Mystery” which snagged 30 million views in the same timeframe, it does make “El Camino” a major success for Netflix. Ride
Jill Soloway is set to direct “Ride,” Lionsgate’s biopic about Sally Ride who was the first American woman to journey to space. Cassie Pappas wrote the script based on an original spec by Krystin Ver Linden. Soloway will produce the pic with Andrea Sperling and Kristin Burr. The story will explore the life of Ride and her historic mission on the Challenger space shuttle in 1983, her first of two trips into space. [Source: Collider]

2019 Gotham Awards
The first awards nominations of the season have arrived with “The Farewell,” “Hustlers,” “Marriage Story,” “Uncut Gems” and “Waves” competing for Best Film at the 2019 Gotham Awards which requires films to be primarily funded in the United States to qualify (so no “Parasite”). “Midsommar,” “The Lighthouse,” “High Flying Bird,” “Diane,” “Clemency,” “Her Smell,” “The Nightingale,” “Honey Boy,” “Booksmart,” “The Mustang” and “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” also earned major nominations. Randy Couture
UFC legend and “The Expendables” star Randy Couture has suffered a heart attack on and is currently in intensive care in hospital according to reports. The 56-year-old reportedly walked himself to the hospital on Wednesday after falling ill while working out in Los Angeles. He was rushed into intensive care were he remains undergoing treatment. TMZ reports the three-time heavyweight champion is expected to make a full recovery. [Source: Daily Star]
