Mexican actress Kate Del Castillo (“La Reina del Sur”) has been added to the cast of “Bad Boys for Life” at Sony Pictures. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing from a script by Joe Carnahan, Peter Craig, and Chris Bremmer.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett who, along with Miami PD’s elite AMMO team, attempt to take down drug cartel head Armando Armas. Da 5 Bloods
Jonathan Majors (“The Last Black Man in San Francisco,” “Captive State”) is reportedly in talks to join Chadwick Boseman, Jean Reno and Delroy Lindo in Spike Lee’s next film “Da 5 Bloods” at Netflix. A Game of Birds and Wolves
Vicky Jones (“Killing Eve”) has been set to pen an adaptation of Simon Parkin’s upcoming non-fiction book “A Game of Birds and Wolves” for Amblin Partners and DreamWorks Pictures. Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff will produce.

The true story tale deals with Operation Raspberry, which saw a rag-tag group of young women and a retired naval captain reinvent British naval strategy with the help of a board game. Their work helped turn the tide in the battle for the Atlantic. [Source: THR]

Universal Pictures has optioned rights to the title story of Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah’s short story anthology collection “Friday Black”. Adjei-Brenyah will adapt the script for the film and executive produce while “Deadpool 2” helmer David Leitch will produce. No director has been set.
