Amazon Prime Video is developing the drama series “Wild Seed” based on the first book in Octavia E. Butler’s acclaimed sci-fi series “Patternist”. Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions will produce while Wanuri Kahiu (“Rafiki”) will direct from a script co-written by sci-fi novelist Nnedi Okorafor.

The story follows two African immortals who travel the ages from pre-Colonial West Africa to the far, far future.
