Sony Pictures has debuted the official new logo for the upcoming Elizabeth Banks-directed “Charlie’s Angels” revival film. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska star in this new take which continues on from the previous TV series and film incarnations with the Townsend agency now having expanded to a global security force. Noah Centineo, Jonathan Tucker, Sam Claflin, Patrick Stewart, Djimon Hounsou and Banks herself also star in the film which opens in cinemas on November 15th. [Source: Sony Pictures]
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
Geena Davis has joined the voice cast of the third season of Netflix’s animated series revival of the “She-Ra” franchise. Davis will voice Huntara, a classic villain from the original cartoon in which Huntara was recruited by Hordak to defeat She-Ra after the ruler came to the conclusion that none of his other underlings could. The Beatles-loving insects of the Emmy Award-winning Netflix animated children’s series “Beat Bugs” are heading to the big screen with MGM picking up the film rights to the Canada-Australia series.
Creator Josh Wakely will write and produce the feature version which again follows the lives and adventures of five childlike bugs who live in an overgrown backyard. The show uses a plethora of Beatles songs, performed by modern artists ranging from Pink to Sia to Rod Stewart, that are threaded into the story. [Source: Heat Vision]
DC Universe has premiered a new “Swamp Thing” promo spot featuring actress Crystal Reed and the monstrous man of her dreams. The series is slated to premiere its ten-episode run on May 31st with more revealing trailers confirming the show has much more of a horror vibe than expected.
