Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman’s upcoming short-form content streaming service Quibi is planning a remake of the 2003 rom-com “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”.
Kate Hudson starred as a magazine journalist who sets out to write an article titled the same as the film. Matthew McConaughey plays an advertising executive who sets out to prove he can make any woman fall in love with him. When the pair end up picking the other to prove their theory – hijinks ensue.
“The Mindy Project” writer Gary Branum is penning the new “modern” reinvention about: “a glib young online columnist and an oversexed advertising executive who both need to prove, once and for all, they’re capable of being monogamous. They soon discover, however, keeping a relationship is harder than it looks.”
Digital shortform platform Quibi is set to launch in April.
