Sony and Supermassive Games have announced an August 25th release date for the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, third-person interactive horror title “Until Dawn”.
Set at an isolated mountain lodge, eight friends try to stay alive with a killer on the loose. Players define the relationships between the characters through dialogue and experience the night from their unique point of view. Branching story lines mean that no two stories will be the same with every decision shaping each player’s unique story.
Famed horror writer/directors Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick wrote the game which utilises a new version of the “Killzone Shadowfall” engine. The DualShock 4 motion sensor functionality will track how still you can be whilst in hiding from the game’s fearsome terrors.
The camera will capture player scares as they happen to share with friends. Along with the release date, a new trailer for the game has also gone online:
