Proper Game Of Thrones S8 Trailer Is Coming

Three months out from the premiere of the eighth and final season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and, aside from a few scant seconds of footage in a network promo, we actually have yet to see any proper clips from the six feature-length episodes that make up the new season.

HBO last weekend revealed a specially crafted teaser trailer made of specially shot footage as opposed to actual clips from the episodes. Speaking to EW, creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were asked why they’re being so stingy with the footage, to which they replied:

Benioff: “[David Lynch] was saying he wished there were no trailers. And it’s true, you could just go into a movie and see something completely fresh.”

Weiss: “I wish there were no trailers. I just want somebody to say, ‘Trust me, go see this.’… We won’t though. Because then we went and saw ‘Ready Player One’ with our kids and they played the ‘Westworld’ trailer and it looked great. And we’re like, ‘Ah, we should do that.”

You can revisit the specially made trailer below. The new season kicks off on April 14th and runs through until the finale airing likely on May 19th.
