Three years on from its release and Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” still divides fans of not just the “Alien” franchise but sci-fi in general. There’s often been talk of a sequel, but Scott has often let it slide in favour of other projects in recent years.
Now it appears Scott is ready to move forward with it after all as Total Film (via Sci-Fied) has posted a report indicating that the project aims to get underway in January 2016. Part of it is due to Scott’s return to the genre which continues with this Fall’s “The Martian”. Scott says: “I’ve got back into the sci-fi thing, I kind of adore it.”
“Prometheus 2” is not expected be affected by Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming fifth “Alien” film which is heading towards production and which Scott will be executive producing. At last report at the end of 2014, the script was done and Scott was very pleased with the result.
