Producers Talk “Friday the 13th,” “Monster Squad”

With the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” press junket taking place this weekend, Platinum Dunes producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller have been out doing interviews and talking about what’s next for them.

They tell Collider they’re not working on “The Purge 3” yet, but they are very much aiming to get their second “Friday the 13th” reboot out in time for November 13th 2015. At present they are developing the script.

Asked why reboot again so soon again after the 2009 reboot, Form says:

“We love Friday the 13th. We had the best time making that movie. An opportunity to bring Jason back again, for us, we jump at it. We just have to tell the right story. It’s truly about, what is this version? We’re working hard on that. We have a great director, David Bruckner, and we’re trying to figure it out. We have to crack that.”

Fuller adds they haven’t cracked the tone of the film yet. He also confirmed that the remake of “The Monster Squad” they were previously developing is dead.
