“Prison Break” star Rockmond Dunbar will produce and direct the indie drama “Pastor Brown” for Rock Capital Films says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows a wayward pastor’s daughter, Jesse Brown (Salli Richardson Whitfield), as she returns from a life as an exotic dancer to make amends with her family and teen son and eventually lead her father’s parish, becoming Pastor Brown.
Dunbar stars as Amir, a Muslim man who becomes the love interest of Jesse. Nicole Ari Parker, Keith David, Michael B. Jordan and Michael Beach, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Tasha Smith, Dondre T. Whitfield and Ernie Hudson also star.
Former NBA players Shaun Livingston and Charles Oakley are on board as executive producers and will cameo, along with former Olympic track star Carl Lewis and R&B singers Monica, Angie Stone and India.
Filming is presently underway in Atlanta.
