Disney Pictures has moved up the traditionally-animated musical “The Princess and the Frog” by a month.
Originally set for a release this Christmas, the film will now open in New York and Los Angeles on November 25th before expanding nationwide on December 11th.
Ron Clements and John Musker direct the feature which stars the voices of Anika Noni Rose, John Goodman, Keith David, Jim Cummings and Jenifer Lewis.
The move is generally seen as moving the feature away from Fox’s “Alvin and the Chipmunks” sequel.
In its new wide release date, its only competition is the adult-targeted Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones”.
