Prince Bythewood Could Direct Old Guard

Filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood has reportedly entered talks to direct the film adaptation of “Whiteout” author Greg Rucka’s comic “Old Guard” for Skydance Media.

The story follows a small group of soldiers, led by a woman named Andy, who are immortal and have been working as mercenaries through the ages. They soon learn of a new immortal, a black woman serving in the Marines, at the same time as a nefarious organization captures their undying actions on camera and figures out who they are.

Rucka is reportedly set to pen the script with filming potentially able to begin as early as November. Prince-Bythewood was to direct Sony’s “Silver and Black” but with that project stalling in recent months, her jumping over to another project is quite possible.
