Predator Reboot Gets New Title, Poster?

Last year came the exciting news that writer/director Shane Black (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” “Iron Man 3”) had re-teamed with his “Monster Squad” co-writer Fred Dekker on a revival of the “Predator” franchise for 20th Century Fox which the pair had been working on since 2014.

Things have been fairly quiet since then, until yesterday when the studio used the franchise’s official Facebook page to drop a new poster image which was posted with the caption “Here we go again, bro,” and seems to include and what appears to be the new film’s title – “The Predator”.

At last indication this is NOT a reboot of the films, but will serve as something of a refresh. Producer John Davis said in an interview a while back: “The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you, you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.'”

Black is no stranger to the “Predator” franchise, having starred in the original 1987 John McTiernan film as the character of Hawkins and having reworked some of its script. He will direct the project from a script by Dekker based on a story they both came up with.

Here we go again, bro.
