Halfway through its inaugral run, AMC has officially renewed their new series “Preacher” for a second season. The acclaimed series adaptation of the Garth Ennis comic will also expand its run to thirteen episodes for its second season which is set to air next year.
That’s up from the ten that make up the current run. Five episodes have already aired, and AMC is planning a catch-up marathon tomorrow with all five set to re-air from 9pm US-ET tomorrow night.
Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios says in a statement: “‘Preacher’ is a special television program and we’re eager to share with fans the rest of this wild first season and, now, an expanded second season. What Sam, Seth, Evan and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis’ graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary. We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond.”
