Following their “Preacher” TV series adaptation for AMC earlier this year, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures label has set up two new single-camera comedy series at Sony Pictures TV.
The first is a superhero sidekick-themed project written by Mike Rosolio (“Lemmings”) for FOX. The story centers on an ambitious MIT graduate who gets a job working for a Steve Jobs-esque tech genius. He soon learns said genius is a vigilante superhero by night, forcing her to become the unwitting Alfred to his Batman.
The other is a project being developed by Brad Copeland (“Life in Pieces”) about the elusive Illuminati society. The story follows a young couple struggles to balance marriage and suburban life with the fact that one of them is in the Illuminati.
Both series have received script commitment plus penalty. Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver would executive produce both. Rogen and Goldberg remain onboard “Preacher” which has been renewed for a second season, and Hulu’s upcoming “Future Man” which is going straight to series.
