Power Rangers Film Reboot Begins Shooting

Lionsgate has announced that production has officially begun on Saban Brands’ “Power Rangers” film reboot in Vancouver.

The story follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.

To save the planet, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late. Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G and Ludi Lin play the five teens while Elizabeth Banks is the villain Rita Repulsa.

Dean Israelite directs from a script by John Gatins, Burk Sharpless, Matt Sazama, Zack Stentz, Ashley Miller and Max Landis. Haim Saban, Brian Casentini, Wyck Godfrey, and Marty Bowen will produce the film which opens March 24th next year.
