Potter Tale “Cursed Child” Is Coming To Broadway

Following its debut on London’s West End, it has now been confirmed that “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will be crossing the pond and will premiere on Broadway in 2018.

Pottermore made the announcement, confirming that producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callendar are in ‘detailed talks’ to bring the show to Broadway staring Spring 2018 at the Lyric Theater.

Once everything is worked out, the venue will undergo a multimillion-dollar redesign and remodel in preparation for the show. The venue will be able to seat 1,500 patrons.

Paramour, the Cirque du Soleil show currently set up at the Lyric, is now looking for a different location so that it can leave in April. The theater will close down in May for renovation.

Set nineteen years after the events of Deathly Hallows, Potter is middle age and juggling a busy job at the Ministry of Magic, and a family that includes a son, Albus Severus, whom he just can’t seem to connect with.
